Imagine
endless walks though oak shaded forests, serenaded by the gentle
sounds of burbling water and clear spring fed streams. Pause
to rest for a while in a pine scented clearing lulled by the
sweet sound of birdsong and the hum of busy bees.
Too
idyllic to be true?
How
about a gentle bicycle ride down past the Chateau, alongside
the lake and up to the village boulangerie. Returning with oven
warm croissants to dunk in fresh brewed coffee whilst watching
irridescent kingfishers flash over mirror still water.
Too
strenuous?
A
short car ride perhaps, on quiet roads winding through the green
rolling countryside to visit a 12th century abbey. To wander
through the beautiful gardens and down the narrow streets, admiring
the ancient architecture, the delightful art galleries, or stopping
at the fresh produce stalls before picking one of the terrace
restaurants overlooking the trout filled river of the Dronne.
Still
too energetic?
Then
try taking a seat under the shade of an oak tree and chancing
your skill with the wily golden carp that grow contendedly fat
and numerous in the seven acre lake that has been their ancestral
home for 700 years.

It's
hard to choose between them, isn't it? Well, no need, because
we offer it all and more. Brenda and Neil can give you a taste
of the Perigord Vert at our 13th century mill, whether it be
in the en suite bedrooms in the mill barn or on our luxury narrowboat
on the lake.
